Love means attention, which means looking after the things we love. We call this stable management - George Morris

Long-lining helps to train new horses and correct minor errors in training and prepares experienced horses for competition.

Stable management at Cambrian Equestrian Centre is all about complete horse care responsibilities – ensuring each horse is treated with compassion and remains happy, healthy and safe.  With years of experience managing barns in Canada and in the Netherlands, owner/operator Stephanie Cowperthwaite offers a range of services, including, but not limited to: breeding, training, feeding, tack and equipment, grooming, foot care and shoeing, first aid, lameness, medical and rehabilitation, conformation, conditioning, show prep (bandaging and wraps).

We offer full boarding services, which includes: a large airy box stall with paddocks, daily stall cleaning, access to fresh water via our automatic watering systems, high quality feed, bedding and hay (horses are grained twice a day with extra hay during the day and night check), daily turnout, access to a local equine veterinarian and rehabilitation from injuries. Owners are also kept informed of their horse’s health and general well-being.

Trusting your horse’s training to a professional rider, who will teach the right aids and techniques from the beginning, is one of the most critical decisions that you can make in your horse’s career. Whether that is starting and backing your young horse (using gentle and gradual techniques to acclimatize your horse to the new experience of being handled and ridden), training for an equestrian discipline or working to correct an issue or problem. We will navigate the horse training process with you to achieve optimal performance behaviours from your horse.

One of the most frustrating things a rider can experience is not knowing what to do to correct a problem, or how to move to the next stage in their horse / rider partnership. Stephanie Cowperthwaite, owner/operator, has a wealth of experience training/re-training and conditioning horses ensuring riders develop and advance in their careers.

PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) can be administered as a therapy for optimized healing of an injured area, or used as a maintenance tool to keep a horse supple at the top of their athletic performance. It enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and reduces pain and inflammation.
